TPA provided site engineering and permitting assistance for a 150 foot suspension footbridge across the Shepaug River. The footbridge will interconnect two areas of an existing trail system in the Hidden Valley portion of the Steep Rock Reservation, and provide access to a portion of the trail network for persons with mobility impairments. TPA worked with the CT DOT and CT DEEP to define the permitting requirements and identify limiting criteria for the bridge design, provided topographic survey of the site and developed erosion control and restoration planting plans. TPA drafted an application to the CT DEEP for a Flood Management Certificate and assisted with submissions to the Washington Inland Wetlands Commission. The bridge was designed by Gray Organschi Architects with structural engineering by Robert Silman Associates.
