TPA prepared design and construction documents for the park site work associated with the carousel pavilion designed by Gray Organschi Architects. The Mill River Collaborative, a nonprofit private-public partnership advancing the development of the 26-acre park and 1.9 mile greenway along the Mill River, was the client. Site features include granite pavers, concrete plank pavement, and green wall plantings. Site planning protects existing mature Kwanzan Cherry trees planted by a Japanese immigrant over 50 years ago, a legacy which is recognized during Stamford’s annual Cherry Blossom Festival. Future plans call for additional Cherry trees to be planted from scion grafts of these original trees. The carousel, pavilion, and site work was completed in Spring 2017.
